Lana obtained her Honours Bachelor’s degree in Logopedics and Audiology from the University of Pretoria in 1991. She has more than 30 years of experience as a speech and language therapist in South Africa and the UK combined.
Currently Lana works with paediatric clients in our clinic in Chelsea, nurseries and primary schools. She has extensive experience in working with early years and primary school aged children with a range of needs, including speech sound difficulties, language disorders, developmental language delay, ASD, as well as social communication difficulties.
Lana values the role that parents and family members play in the development/remediation of their children’s speech, language and communication abilities and enjoys working shoulder to shoulder with them as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
Lana passionately believes in being proactive and is therefore an eager and experienced provider of staff trainings at INSET days in schools on a broad range of speech, language, and communication-related topics. She further enjoys working with groups of parents creating awareness of speech, language and communication difficulties in children or running workshops to support parents with strategies to enhance their children’s communication.
Lana is a registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council, as well as a certified member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
In her spare time Lana is an enthusiastic cook, enjoys all activities related to nature and likes nothing more than spending time with her family at home with a cat curled up on her lap.
