Christa is an Occupational Therapist at The London Children’s Practice and also holds the role of Manager leading on projects within the team. Christa obtained her Bachelors in Occupational Therapy at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. Furthermore she complete a dissertation on the impact of sensory input on the cerebral palsy population.
Currently, Christa works primarily with children with learning disorders, autism and sensory processing difficulties. Christa has a special interest in Sensory Integration and is an Ayre’s Sensory Integration qualified therapist.
Christa has experience in both adult and paediatric rehabilitation in hospital and school settings. Her experience includes treating a variety of diagnosis including autism, ADHD, dyslexia, sensory processing disorder, brain injuries and orthopaedic injuries. Christa has experience in various assessment tools including the Ayre’s Sensory Integration and Praxis Test (SIPT) and various school-based assessments.
Christa is passionate about including parents/caregivers in setting therapy goals and empowering parents to assist their children. She has participated in various group caregiver training sessions with parents to equip them with homebased care for children with disabilities.
Christa is registered as an Occupational Therapist is registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Occupational Therapy (RCOT).
Christa also speaks German. Outside of work Christa enjoys being outdoors as often as she can and loves running and swimming. She enjoys watercolour painting and reading to relax on the weekend.
