At LCP, we recognise the importance of early intervention and consistent care. To support this philosophy within our team, we provide an ‘introductory therapy package’ framework for children and young people. When you book an introductory therapy package, your child will be scheduled for a therapy slot with a suitable therapist, held on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Here’s how it works:
Initial Session: A 45-minute assessment and review direct session of your child’s needs followed by a 15min indirect session. The therapist may use standardised and non-standardised assessment tools to determine your child’s developmental position compared to their peers and identify suitable intervention strategies.
Follow-up Session: A 45-minute session direct session where the therapist asks further questions, provides feedback to parents and the child based on the initial assessment, followed by a 15min indirect session. The therapist will work with you to identify ongoing targets for therapy, and outlines how these targets can be achieved. A one-page document will be created to compile specific targets.
Ongoing Sessions: Once you have clarity on your child’s needs, therapy targets, and the ongoing intervention plan, regular sessions can begin. Session durations may be 45 minutes or 30 minutes, depending on the therapist’s recommendations.
If you need a report for school or other professional purposes, this will be an additional cost. You can request this report at any point during the ongoing sessions. We have observed that therapists can offer a thorough understanding of your child after both assessment and intervention.
