At LCP, we recognise the importance of early intervention and consistent care. To support this philosophy within our team, we provide an ‘introductory therapy package’ framework for children and young people. When you book an introductory therapy package, your child will be scheduled for a therapy slot with a suitable therapist, held on a weekly or fortnightly basis.
Here’s how it works:
Initial Session: A 45-minute assessment and review of your child’s needs. The therapist may use a combination of standardised and non-standardised assessment tools to determine your child’s areas of strength and any areas of need. Appropriate intervention strategies are then identified.
Follow-up Session: A follow-up 45-minute session then takes place for any further dynamic assessment and the therapist can ask any further questions. The therapist will then provide feedback to parents, based on both assessment sessions. The therapist will work with you to identify ongoing targets for therapy, and will outline how these targets can be achieved. A short summary report will be provided, outlining areas of strengths and needs, as well as targets for intervention.
Ongoing Sessions: Once you have clarity on your child’s needs, therapy targets, and the ongoing intervention plan, regular sessions can begin. Session durations may be 45 minutes or 30 minutes, depending on the therapist’s recommendations.
If you need a report for school or other professional purposes, this will be an additional cost. You can request this report at any point during the ongoing sessions.
