Andrea Garcia Sanchez

Speech and Language Therapist

Andrea is a Speech and Language Therapist at the London Children’s Practice. Andrea obtained her degree at the University of Valencia in Spain. She recently completed her Master’s degree in education & special needs teaching and obtain the Qualified Teaching Status. Currently, Andrea works primarily with children ages 2-5 years, bilingual clients and schools. 

Andrea has experience assessing and working with children diagnosed with ASD, eating and drinking difficulties, language delay, speech sounds disorders and bilingual children. 

 She is a specialist SEN teacher and has been working as a SENCO with students with learning disabilities, communication difficulties and behaviours that challenge for the last years. She’s been the coordinator of a multidisciplinary team and provided a positive support to the students’ needs. Thanks to this experience she understands the importance of supporting families and students’ needs in a holistic way.  

She is interested in bilingualism, dysphagia, CAS, orofacial myofunctional disorders and AAC. Andrea is trained in Makaton, Play Therapy, PROMPT, TEACCH, Core Vocabulary Therapy, SCERTS program, Lego Therapy, Myofunctional Therapy and Tongue Thrust swallowing, Talking mats, Communication through touch and music (TacPac) and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). 

Andrea is a registered member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapist, and is also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. She is also registered member of the Official College of Speech and Language Therapist in the Valencian Community, Spain. 

Andrea is multilingual and speaks English, Spanish and Valencian. 

In her spare time Andrea enjoys playing the ukulele, playing sports, going for long walks and spend time with family and friends.
