ASC Clinic

The Autism diagnostic clinic for under 5yo is conducted by a neuro-developmental Paediatrician and either a Speech and Language Therapist or Occupational Therapist with specialist additional training. The clinic involves three separate assessments, followed by feedback where a diagnosis is given if appropriate.

The first appointment is a General Development assessment, at the end of this appointment the Paediatrician will confirm if the Autism diagnostic clinic should proceed. If so, a second appointment will be booked for an Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS) assessment with a specialised therapist. A third appointment will then be booked with the Paediatrician for an Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI). Following this the ADOS specialist and the Paediatrician will provide a feedback session.
