Specialist services

A range of special programmes are run at and from the practice including:

  • Pre-school Social Communication Group. This is an intensive multi-disciplinary programme for young children experiencing social communication difficulties.
  • Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS).
  • Makaton Training for parents and professionals.
  • Communication Skills Training and Seminars for teachers, parents and professionals working with children. We can provide a range of professional training to meet individual need. Our training and seminars include an overview of the development of communication together with strategies for at home and within the classroom.
  • Social Skills Training for children up to the age of 12 years experiencing social communication difficulties.
  • Study Skills Training for teenagers.
  • Memory and Processing techniques including visualisation strategies.
  • Handwriting groups.
  • Sensory motor groups.
  • School starter groups.
  • Groups for children with communication and motor difficulties run jointly by an occupational therapist and speech and language therapist.
  • Play therapy.
  • Summer school programmes.
