Laura Topolinski

Director of Schools Service & Speech and Language Therapist

Laura is a Senior Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and Director of Schools Service at The London Children’s Practice. Laura qualified with a BSc Honours degree at Birmingham City University in 2010. Currently Laura works primarily with children and young people with Autism and social, emotional and mental health difficulties. Laura has experience providing assessment and therapy for a range of speech, language and communication needs. She has worked in both mainstream and specialist schools, in addition to the clinic setting. Laura supports children with Autism, Selective Mutism, Stammering, and social communication difficulties. Laura has a special interest in supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and anxiety-based communication difficulties. Laura has completed training in AAC, Makaton, Selective Mutism, Dysphagia, Michael Palin Centre for Stammering, and Zones of Regulation. She has also provided a range of training to schools which has been tailored to their needs. Laura is part of the Autism diagnostic team at LCP and is trained in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2). Laura is a registered member of The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and is also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. Outside of work, Laura enjoys reading, yoga, and attending festivals and live music events.

Laura supports children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Selective Mutism, Stammering, Language Delay, and social communication difficulties.

Laura has completed training in PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Sign-along, Selective Mutism, Dysphagia (Manchester Metropolitan University), Michael Palin Centre for Stammering, and Zones of Regulation. She has also provided a range of training to schools which has been tailored to their needs, this includes: Selective Mutism, Speech, Language and Communication Needs in Schools, and Classroom Strategies for Language Development.

Laura has a special interest in supporting children and young people with social, emotional and mental health difficulties and anxiety based communication difficulties. Laura is currently developing her skills in administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).

Laura is a registered member of The Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists, and is also registered with the Health and Care Professions Council.

Outside of work, Laura enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and attending festivals and live music events.
