Gomolemo Patience Mabusela

Assistant Speech and Language Therapist

Gomolemo Patience Mabusela is a Speech and Language Therapist Assistant at The London Children’s Practice currently awaiting Health and Care Professionals Council Registration. Gomolemo Patience obtained her Honors Bachelor’s degree in Speech Language Pathology and Audiology at Sefako Makgatho Health Sciences University in South Africa.

The experience Gomolemo Patience has obtained consist of evaluation, treatment and referral of inpatients and outpatients  in a Hospital setting with speech, language, swallowing  and hearing difficulties within the fields of otolaryngology, paediatrics, neonatal care, geriatrics and neurological disorders. Duties include newborn hearing screening in NICU, KMC, and post-natal wards, hearing evaluations, impression-taking, hearing aid programming the development of home programs and writing of reports.

She has experience working with variety of populations and disorders which  Includes assessment and intervention for children with different needs, including articulation / phonological disorders, developmental language delays/ disorders, Autism Spectrum Disorder, premature babies, Cerebral Palsy, Down syndrome, Intellectual disability as well as feeding difficulties.  Gomolemo Patience was part of a Speech Therapy and Audiology department that was responsible for a large population area and often the first line of entry where Patients get diagnosed and referrals to ENT, Department of Education and other professionals.

Gomolemo Patience did hospital-based  online course in Ethics in Public service. She attended hospital-based cerebral palsy clinic along with occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists.

Outside of work, Gomolemo Patience enjoys listening to music, going out to explore different foods, exercising and taking walks and travelling.
