
Alexandra Polatidou
Alexandra obtained her MSc Speech Language and Communication at the City University of London while pursuing the acquisition of further knowledge and skills. Alexandra holds registration with HCPC.
Alexandra has experience working with primary and secondary aged children within mainstream and Special Education Needs schools. Alexandra has provided intervention therapy to a varied paediatric caseload including children with speech sound difficulties, language disorders, autism spectrum disorder (ASD), stammering and social communication difficulties.
Alexandra enjoys working with children with ASD and believes that every child should be recognised and respected as unique and special. Therefore, she places each child’s individual needs and goals at the center of her work.
Alexandra’s international work experience combined with her postgraduate studies, her passion for her job and her focus on continuing professional development have equipped her with the tools needed for providing effective support via a variety of methods and for a plethora of disorders.
Alexandra has completed her Level 3 Makaton course and has gained experience in the methods of PECS, TEACCH, Intensive Interaction, Colourful Semantics, Emotional Regulation, Myofunctional Therapy and Minimal Pairs Approach.
Alexandra is bilingual and can provide therapy both in Greek and English.
Outside of work, Alexandra enjoys dancing, singing, playing tennis, learning new languages, travelling around the world and catching the waves with her windsurf.
