General Development Assessments

General Development Assessments (1yo to 5yo)

General Developmental Assessments are conducted by a neuro-developmental Paediatrician and provide a holistic assessment of a child’s development in all the developmental domains, including:

  • medical assessment
  • gross motor
  • fine motor
  • speech and language
  • social skills

The assessment involves a history from the parents as well as undertaking standardised developmental assessments such as Griffiths scales or Schedule of Growing skills with the child. The medical examination is conducted to check if there are any underlying medical conditions leading to developmental problems. At the end of the assessment, the paediatrician will formulate developmental diagnosis, and recommend for further investigations and interventions if deemed necessary.
